Interesting

While making an audio visual presentation for the Benguet Silk Fashion Show, we were able to dig up some old pics about the Benguet costume. It’s interesting to note that the "eten" (Benguet costume for females) was not only in plain maroon and black colors but there were other colors as well.

Visit benguet.i.ph to view some of the pics I uploaded. SOme pics are from my great grandpa’s collection — obviously they are in black & white. I hope other people would also appreciate the Benguet culture— yes it is plain but it is the people that gives life to culture and tradition that is being passed on from generation to generation.

With Adivay 2006 festivities, I hope that visitors and the Benguet people will not just satisfy whatever they want to see but learn from the things displayed by the different municipalities and exhibitors… not just appreciate, but promote and use indigenous and local products by our own "kailians" (kababayans).
